Interesting Poster

Guess someone designed this Arrested Development poster. Quite interesting with the Star Wars look to it. Thought it was interesting enough to post:

Video Surveillance?

Well, the spending binge continues. Got a webcam with built in webserver so it can be monitored from any internet connection home or away. With the thought of security I thought it would be kinda cool to mess around with... and it was only 40 bucks...

Weird Al

Well ripped my brothers Weird Al CDs and now have almost 9 and a half hours of music. Man that is a lot of Weird Al. Fits all on one mp3 cd though, so I can have 150 songs with room to spare in the car. UPDATE: Well got a hold of the last three albums that were missing, so I should have all Weird Al's songs.

On the scrubs line still, apparently there have been commentaries for all this season's episodes, including the musical. Could be interesting to listen to:

Bored...

I was bored and no one was here so I decided to take some pictures of the office if anyone is interested. Obviously AJ wouldn't be since he has been here working twice...

Camera is Here :)

Well I just got my new camera. It is really nice looking and very small, should be really convenient to carry around with me. I orignally thought that Amazon or post office screwed something up because when I checked the tracking for the camera, it said delivered, but it wasn't there. Come to find out that when I submitted the order, I only apparently changed the billing address to the condo rather than billing and shipping, so it was sent to my parents house. Well once I sorted that out I picked it up on my lunch break. Haven't had much time to mess around with it yet. I did take one "macro" shot to see how the picture would come out. It is a close up of a business card, looks pretty cool. We shall see and hopefully I will have more picture (maybe some with me in it, being I barely have any of those in the past 6 years).

Here is the example (click for a bigger view... 1024x768, 119kb):

Oh yeah, also changed the look of my livejournal, what do you think?

Camera

Well, I decided to buy a new "ultra-compact" camera to take around with me as opposed to lugging around my other camera. I still will use my other camera, It has some great features especially the 10x optical zoom with image stabilization. This small camera will be mostly for taking pictures of events, etc.

Oh and love this commercial with Bruce Campbell that I saw recently...

Nothing intersting...

Not much happened. Went to a Kings game with my dad, they lost in overtime.. doh! I am in pain because I played 2 hours of flag football. Sad how I can go to the gym as much as I do and then be in this much pain, and that was 2 days ago and I can barely walk still. Thought I'd finish off this rather crappy post with a quote from the last ep. of scrubs...

Patient is sick from a broken heart, and coding

Patient is out of danger and smiling and playing with kittens.

Simpsons Trivia

Figured since I have a Simpsons trivia calendar and I'm usually the only one to see it, might as well post them here when I have time. Today's trivia question is:

In "Krusty Gets Busted", what is the slogan for Krusty's literacy campaign?

a. "Just Say No to Stupidity, Dummy"
b. "Give A Hoot, Read A Book"
c. "Don't Be A Crook...Buy My Book"
d. "Make Sentences, Not War"

For now I will post the answer the next day. I guess I could also just make it the same color as the background and people could highlight it to see the answer. Guess I could also leave that up to discussion.

Guess no one really cares... anyways, I'll put it here anyways, the answer is: c

Kings again...

Well, looks like I will be going to another Kings game on Saturday. That will be my 5th game this season, with a definite two more games (depending on what else I could be offered in the future and if they Kings pull it together and make it to the playoffs), we could be talking about getting close to or passing the most games I've been to in a season... pretty cool. Thanks again Rachael for thinking about me when you heard about the tickets :).

Pictures...

Hmmm... something occurred to me. I talk about taking more pictures, and I have been more so. But really over the last few years only a handful have me in them at all. I wonder what that means. Maybe I'll try and document things with me also in the picture more (not that I like any picture that I am in... but eh, at least it's proof that I exist).

Speaking of me in pictures though... forgot to put this up when I was talking about the Kings game. On 12/30 when I was at the Kings game, I happened to be passing behind their cameras when doing pregame, I called home and had AJ turn on the tv and then in the background I could hear Rachael shout "I see you!". It has been recorded... though annoyingly on the comcast box so I can't pull the video off (replaytv recorded postgame rather than pregame, maybe I can transfer it to a tape or something).

Oh, and here is what we all talked about. Homer singing about living under the sea.

New Years Weekend

Another 3-day weekend down the tube and work starts again (or lack there of). Well this three day weekend turned out fine, didn't do too much. Friday night went out to first see Christmas lights with Rachael and my brother. Apparently Rachael is "Beyond Normal" and my brother and I are "freaks" because we don't feel the cold :). That turned well... I guess since the holidays were almost over that the house wasn't too crowded to watch the lights.

After seeing that house we had a little longer and we drover over off of T Street where most people in that area all do lights (It's to the point where I wonder if you move there you have to sign something saying you'll at least put some lights up). On the way back drove by a house where they went through the trouble of putting up a board on their roof with lights that spell out "Bah Humbug"... was pretty entertaining. After that we got back to the condo and met up with AJ, his sister and her soon to be husband want watched "A Scanner Darkley". It was a very "different" movie, especially in the way that they drew over the frames to give it the appearance of animation. I thought the movie was good and would recommend it. As I have mention it is based on a book by "Philip K. Dick" who also wrote books/short stories that were the basis of the movies "Minority Report" and "Blade Runner".

On Saturday I went to a Kings game with my dad. That ended up being a very good showing by the Kings and they ended up winning by 23 (though they did have 30+ point leads at times). So for the four games I have been to this year the two I have been there with my dad, they have blown out the opponent, the other two times they have lost.

Oh found this entertaining... can you spot the problem with something in this picture?

Final Score

After the game I brought my brother over to the condo and AJ, myslef and my brother watched "Lady in the Water". I guess this was a story and M. Night made up himself and would tell to his kids as a bedtime story. It had some good points but also had some very annoying characters and overdone scenes. Of his movies I would have to put this last. I don't dislike it completely and showed promise, but at the same time I may not have bought it had I seen it before hand (but then I have all his other movies so I probably would have bought it just for that reason).

Sunday managed to get myself up by 1, but this time I did actually go work out. That evening AJ and I went out for New Years Eve/Day. We went to a former marching band member's grandmother's house with Chris, his wife Angela, her sister, AJ's/Chris' friend Shaun. Went we got there they were watching "Johnny Mnemonic"... gee, just too bad we missed most of it *wink* *wink*. After that we eat dinner (main course of lasagna... was good). Then we watched "Little Miss Sunshine" since I brought over a number of dvds. I didn't mind seeing again since it was that good of a movie. After that watch the ball drop on tv and then we pretty much broke off into two groups. Some people began playing some weird game ".... Fu" don't remember what it was called while the rest of us watched "Thank You For Smoking", another good movie that I didn't mind see again. Finally ended the night/morning where most of the time was AJ telling his stories... AJ: you know you were doing for the pitty ;). We ended up leaving before 6am and driving home in "Pea Soup" fog.

Monday we didn't end up doing much, woke up late, did some laundry. The three of us went to Denny's for dinner and watched "After the Sunset". Let's just say it was a movie that really doesn't make you think but is still entertaining to watch... but what do you expect from Bret Ratner ("Money Talks", "Rush Hour"... granted he also did a pretty good job on "X3" and "Prison Break").

Man this is boring...

Day before a 3 day weekend... no phone calls... nothing to work on. What a slow moving day. What would I be doing if I were home? Good question, sleeping?... maybe... probably more likely watching a movie or something. What I really need to do is stop being lazy and update my resume. I keep talking about doing that, but I never end up getting very far. At least it's a 3 day weekend. If anyone wants to go geocaching at least a little on Saturday sometime, let me know... don't really have any plans and I don't want to be cooped up in the condo all weekend... though watching a few movies as well would be cool.

Meeting with Friends

Yesterday ended up turning out pretty interesting. Work like usual was pretty slow and nothing much was happening but just before I was about to get ready for the gym I got a call from a friend who I hadn't seen in over 2 years. The person in question was Kevin, who was also a computer science major at Sac State (he graduated a semester before me in May 04). Both A.J. and I have had multiple classes with him and I also was in his group for Senior Project. Right after graduation he and his then fiance Cindy moved to San Diego since Kevin had gotten a job at Lockheed Martin. Well he, his now wife Cindy and 3 month old daughter Emma were in town visiting Kevin's family and he wanted to see if I wanted to visit and catch a bite to eat. So I got off work and was going to meet them at a Chinese restaurant near Sac State, though apparently it was closed for the holidays. We ended up going to the Denny's on Sunrise (since that way A.J. could at least visit for a few minutes before going to bowling). We had a good time catching up and then I showed them the condo before they had to hit the road (bedtime for Emma). It was really cool getting to see them, though it doesn't seem like it's been over 2 years. They said I had an open invite if I were planning on coming down to San Diego, which to be honest I'd like to do at some point. The only time I've even been to San Diego was at the airport transferring planes. Then I finished off the night watching Goldeneye and seeing that the Kings actually won (YEA! and I even get to go to a game this Saturday with my dad as he managed to get tickets from someone at work).

And for those wondering this is Emma (from Cindy's myspace page):

And these are Kevin and Cindy (wedding picture):
